Position : TECHNICAL ASSISTANT (PERMANENT WAY)
Responsibilities:
- Manage, coordinate, update and monitor Regions track maintenance works i.e. tamping program on planning and implementing.
- Manage, coordinate, update and monitor Regions mechanize operators competency and manpower planning.
- Analyze progress and troubleshoot problem arising of track maintenance issues i.e. mechanize, caution and time lost.
- Update, compile and maintain soft and hard copy all documents of track maintenance i.e. mechanize, caution and time lost.
- Prepare minutes of meeting, correspondence and reports writing.
- Operate and manage track mechanize machine.
- QA & QC for track maintenance activities (mechanization) to ensure reliability of track machines and track safety.
- Conduct training and assess on level of competency, knowledge and skill of staff.
- Conduct inspection on track machinery to ensure fulfill company rules and regulations.
- To assist Senior Engineer / Engineer in the day to day operations within the department concerned.
- Performs related duties as assigned by Senior Engineer / Engineer.
Internal Candidate :
- At least 3 years experience as Chief Permanent Way Inspector in job grade J05AG07; or
- Possess a Diploma in Civil / Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or any equivalent qualification;
External Candidate :
- Below 30 years of age;
- Possess a Diploma in Civil / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or any equivalent qualification;
- Minimum 3 years working experience in construction or railway industry;
- Fresh graduates with highly-self confident are encouraged to apply
Essential Skills & Qualities
- Able to work independently in a multi task and fast paced environment.
- Must be proficient in MS Office applications i.e. Words, Excel, Power Point etc
- Able to operate Macro program in Excel will be an added advantage;
- Capable of working independently and pro-active in most situation.
- Possessed strong technical and analytical skills;
- Strong written and oral communication skills with an ability to interact with all levels within the company;
- Ability to independently plan and organize one’s own activities;
- Written and spoken in English and Bahasa Malaysia;
- Computer literate
- Willing to be stationed in any locations within the company;
- Willing to work extra hours and to be prepared to travel outstation.
